The Gibson VOS 56 Les Paul Goldtop is an electric singlecut guitar which follows the VOS (Vintage Original Spec) that make these series of guitars Gibson`s next step in their journey towards perfection. Ted McCarty`s Tune-o-Matic bridge (also known as the ABR-1) appeared on higher-end Gibson guitars as early as 1954. The ABR-1 was added to the Les Paul Model in 1956, along with the individual saddles to adjust each string`s length, and thumbwheels to adjust the overall height of the bridge. The system which is also featured on this reissue series Gibson VOS 56 Les Paul Goldtop represented a quatum leap forward to intonation and a marked improvement
