Our resident luthier Chris Sheldon offers a first class repair service at very competitive rates and has more than 12 years experience in stringed instrument making, repair and servicing.
Real Time Music now offers in-house guitar repairs and service by our fully qualified luthier Chris Sheldon.
Whether it’s a simple re-string or a full re-fret, he can offer advice on the best way to get your instrument playing to its maximum potential.
You may want a pickup replacement or are experiencing tuning problems which could be remedied by a simple nut or machine head upgrade - Chris will help you decide the best course of action to take within your available budget.

Services available at Chris’s workshop include
- Re-stringing
- Top nut replacement (options include graphite, brass, bone, plastic etc.)
- Full set ups (action/intonation etc.)
- Truss rod adjustments (usually required when changing string gauges)
- Bridge saddle replacement (cut to fit acoustic instruments or options for electric guitars such as graph-tech upgrades)
- Electrical repairs and modifications (this could be anything from a new potentiometer, toggle switch, or a coil tap fitted to a humbucking pickup)
- Fret dressing (a light fret stone remove grooves caused by constant use in one or more position)
- Full or partial re-fret (usually required after years of use, but can transform the feel of a tired old instrument and give it new life)
